FAITH

By Prohetess Owens
Hebrews 11:1- Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. (NLT)

This morning the word "FAITH" took on a whole new meaning for me.  I have been following the news on television for a couple of days concerning an 11 year old autistic girl name Nadia Bloom, who lives in Winter Haven Florida. Nadia had wandered away from her home four days ago to go on a nature walk.  She wandered into a wooded and swamp area surrounded by snakes and alligators.

After being missing for almost four days, a gentlemen by the name of James King from Nadia's church decided he would go out on his own to look for her.  Mr. King stated that while walking deep into the swamp area, he prayed, called out scriptures and trusted the voice of the Holy Spirit to direct him in the way he should go.

As Mr. King approached the location where Nadia was, he heard the Lord tell him to follow the sunrise. He took the direction the Father told him and called out Nadia's' name. To his amazement, she responded.  She was found sitting by a tree with insect bites all over her. She was a little dehydrated, tired and hungry but was okay.  This story moved me to tears of joy as though it was a child of mine that was found.

Two scriptures came to mind as I listened to this heartwarming story, "my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow". If Mr. King would have not obeyed the voice of God, Nadia may not be here today.  The next scripture is Hebrews 11:1- "Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".

Although there were helicopters flying overhead looking for her, they could not see her. Dogs picked up Nadia's' scent going into the woods but they could not find her. Mr. King and his church prayed and stood on their "FAITH" that Nadia would be found (NOW FAITH).

I thank God today for this wonderful miracle. As Mr. King sat on Good Morning America with his bible in hand, he humbly remarked "I'm just an ordinary man". And that's who God wants to use, just humble ordinary people.

Blessing be upon you this day.  In His Service
